Why We Don’t Take Part in Flash Sales
A calm, considered approach to outdoor furniture, and why we favour honest pricing and a small, end-of-season collection over big, high-pressure sales events.
Across the year, big discounts on bank holiday weekends and flash sales like Black Friday and Cyber Monday bring a wave of urgency and noise: countdown emails, limited-time banners and the push to make buying decisions in minutes before something disappears. It creates pressure and while that might work well for mass-produced products, it has very little to do with the way our furniture is designed, made or valued and is something that we don’t feel comfortable with.
We’re a small, independent, family-run business creating handmade garden furniture, to order, in the UK from teak, oak, sweet chestnut, and iroko. Our approach is slower, more considered, and rooted in traditional craftsmanship – and for that reason, Black Friday simply isn’t part of what we do.

Handmade Furniture Doesn’t Have Mass-Market Margins
High-street and online retailers often run big discounts because their products are mass-produced and priced with promotions in mind, but that’s not how we work.
Our prices reflect:
- The cost of high-quality, sustainably sourced hardwoods
- The time, expertise, and care of our skilled UK workshop team
- The fact that every piece is made to order and tailored if needed
- A commitment to fair, honest pricing year-round
We don’t inflate prices only to mark them down later. Instead, we offer consistency and transparency, alongside a small gesture for anyone joining our newsletter: a 10% discount, available all year, never limited.
Craftsmanship at the Heart of Every Piece
Each bench, chair, and table that we craft here in the UK is designed to last decades, not seasons. That’s why every item we make comes with a 15-year guarantee – the longest in the market.
It’s a promise that reflects the quality of the FSC-certified solid hardwoods, the care of our team, and the confidence we have in every piece that leaves our workshop. When furniture is built to endure, there’s no need for hype of a flash sale to make it feel valuable.

A More Thoughtful Way to Choose Outdoor Furniture
Choosing garden furniture should feel enjoyable: calm, considered, and tailored to your home and space. Whether you’re exploring our garden benches, dining tables, or outdoor chairs, or if you are interested in bespoke designs and personalisation options, we want the experience to feel effortless and welcoming.
With a typical lead time of 2–6 weeks (sometimes less), you have space to consider your choices without pressure, and our end-of-season collection is available for immediate delivery if you prefer. For long-term peace of mind, you can also explore our simple outdoor furniture care guide.
A Considered End-of-Season Offering
While we don’t take part in Black Friday, there are occasions when we hold a small end-of-season collection.
These are limited pieces, thoughtfully curated, already crafted in our workshop and ready for prompt delivery. They are not part of a promotional calendar; they exist purely because we occasionally create a small number of additional pieces alongside our made-to-order work.
This collection offers an opportunity to bring home a premium piece of handcrafted furniture with minimal wait, but once these items are gone, they will not return.
